Welcome to Camp Cowboy
At Camp Cowboy, we are dedicated to supporting veterans, active-duty military, first responders, and their families by providing unique hands-on experiences in basic horsemanship, ranch life, and agriculture. Our mission is to create an educational, empowering, and healing environment where participants can build confidence, develop new skills, and find a sense of purpose through working with horses and livestock.
What Camp Cowboy Offers:
Camp Cowboy provides a variety of programs designed to teach valuable skills, foster camaraderie, and promote well-being:
- Equine Assisted Growth & Peer Support Program – Learn to care for, communicate with and ride horses while experiencing the benefits of working with these incredible animals.
- Ranch & Farm Management – Gain hands-on experience in running a farm or ranch, including livestock care, pasture management, equipment maintenance, and financial planning.
- Camp Cowboy University – A free online education program offering over 250 courses in career development, small business management, leadership, and more. Available to all veterans, first responders, and their families.
- Hands-On Training – Participate in activities such as cattle work, fence mending, and land conservation, learning real-world skills that can lead to employment opportunities in agriculture and related industries.
- Special Events & Workshops – From guest speakers and roping clinics to field trips and community events, we provide opportunities to connect, learn, and grow.

The Camp Cowboy Approach
Connection
At Camp Cowboy, we focus on the relationship that is formed between the veteran and the horse. This relationship is powerful, and one that allows the veteran to feel a connection they may have not felt in a long time. As a result, the veteran becomes more capable of reconnecting with those in their own lives with whom those relationships might have been lost.
Community
Our program is for those with shared experiences of what it means to serve this country. Often veterans can develop the feeling that those experiences are unique to them, and as a result they feel alone. At Camp Cowboy, veterans are not alone, and they have a place to process experiences with others with shared experiences.
Support
Camp Cowboy is a family, and a supportive one at that. Once someone has been through the program, or volunteered to make it possible, they begin to realize that everyone is truly there to support another. Camp Cowboy will always be there to support anyone experiencing hardship and loss.
Impact
Part of the Camp Cowboy approach is to make sure that after graduation from the program, alumni have the opportunity to give back to other veterans and make an impact. Helping others go through the program and watching their growth is what many of our graduates cherish the most.
